JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A bicyclist died Thursday afternoon when a tow-truck backed up over the cyclist.

Police said the bicyclist was riding through the Shell gas station in the 500 block of Cassat Avenue when the truck backed out of a diesel fueling area and struck the bicycle.

Police said bystanders yelled at the truck driver to stop, so he stopped and pulled forward, running over the bicyclist a second time.

The name of the victim was not immediately released.

Traffic homicide investigators were interviewing the driver and witnesses. It wasn't determined if any charges would be filed.
