Kensey Lindsey (blurb)

Police: Teen Threatened Home Where Woman Was Killed

UPDATED: 9:24 pm EDT July 16, 2008

As police investigate Tuesday's death of a 35-year-old mother of two found shot inside a Westside home, a man who witnesses heard last week threatening to shoot up that same house was arrested.

Investigators said they believe Angela Knight was killed when bullets flew through the windows of her mother's home on First Street, near Prospect Road.

"It's just not real," said Anthony Roper, Knight's boyfriend of 18 years. "I keep going around looking at bullet holes and it's just not real."

The Knight family told Channel 4 they do not believe she was the intended target.

On Wednesday morning, police announced the arrest of Kensey Lindsey, who investigators said came to that same house last week. Angered when asked to leave the property, witnesses told police that he pulled a gun out of his pocket and threatened to shoot the homeowner.

According to the arrest report, Lindsey waved the gun in the air and said he would come back later and "flip your house."

Lindsey, 18, was charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a delinquent felon. He was held in the Duval County jail on $400,006 bond.

He is not currently facing any charges in Knight's slaying.

Family and friends dealing with losing Knight said they just want to know who killed her.

"For her to die like this here is very senseless," said Knight's friend, Penny. "For her to be in her own home with her mother, trying to enjoy her mother and for her to be in a situation where somebody comes by and shoot her.... the kids today, they don't have no heart."

Some neighbors told police investigating the shooting that they saw a blue, older-model Buick with tinted windows leaving the area after the shots were fired.

Anyone with information that could help investigators is asked to call Crimestoppers at 866-845-TIPS.
