4 Accused Of Robbing Ice Cream Truck

Deputies: Crooks Handed Out Treats To Friends

POSTED: Thursday, July 17, 2008

A week after hundreds of dollars of ice cream, snacks and sodas were stolen from an ice cream truck, Putnam County deputies made four arrests in the theft.

Investigators said Corey Baker, 19, Chad Cox, 18, Justin Gall, 18, and William Whitlock, 20, broke into an ice cream truck and cleaned it out.

The four are accused of popping open the truck's door on July 9 and stealing $800 worth of ice cream and other snacks.

Deputies said the suspects bragged about the burglary and passed out ice cream to anyone who wanted the treats.

The four men were arrested Wednesday and charged with burglary and grand theft.
