Celebrating century of lifeguard service

The American Red Cross Volunteer Life Saving Corps is celebrating 100 years of service this weekend.  Look back over their century of service.

Over a century of uninterrupted lifeguard service on every Sunday and holiday throughout the summer season, volunteer guards have contributed more than 1.3 million hours of service, performed 1,511 life-saving rescues and 1,787 life-saving assists, and helped with more than 26,000 first aid cases.
