JENSEN BEACH, Fla. -- A candidate for a St. Lucie County commission seat has been charged with practicing unlicensed laser hair removal.
Arrest records show 33-year-old Rajesh Kumar Nayyar was arrested Wednesday on a felony charge of performing laser hair removal and spider vein removal without a license. He was later released from the Martin County Jail on $15,000 bail.
A message was left Friday at the Nuvage Med Spa in Jensen Beach, which Nayyar owns. There is no home phone number listed for a Rajesh K. Nayyar in the Treasure Coast area.
Court records show state health officials began investigating his business in Oct. 2007 after receiving a complaint. Nayyar was cited and issued a cease-and-desist order in December, but continued to practice.
