Teen Driver Dies In Wreck On Lem Turner

A 16-year-old Jacksonville girl died Wednesday evening in crash on Lem Turner Road.

The wreck took place at about 7:43 p.m. just south of Terrell Road.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Morgan Rittgers was traveling north when she lost control of her car and traveled on the right shoulder before veering into the path of an oncoming vehicle.

Rittgers' car was struck on its right side. Both Rittgers and driver of the other vehicle, 61-year-old Patricia Busbee, of Callahan, were taken to Shands-Jacksonville Medical Center.

Rittgers died of her injuries. Busbee was in critical condition.
