Missing Toddler's Mom Leaves Jail Again

POSTED: Friday, September 5, 2008

Two men dressed in black wedged the mother of a missing Florida toddler through a sea of news crews after her $500,000 bond was posted and she was released from jail Friday morning.

Casey Anthony, 22, walked out of the Orange County Jail on Friday morning, donning an ankle monitoring bracelet and a white T-shirt featuring her 3-year-old daughter, Caylee Anthony.

She is charged with child abuse and making false statements to investigators.

Caylee was reported missing in mid-July from Orlando. The girl hadn't been seen for a month before Anthony told authorities.

Detectives have said Anthony's trunk had contained a decomposing body and that it was likely her daughter's. However, no other charges have been filed against Anthony.

Prosecutors asked for a high bond, hoping Anthony wouldn't be able to get out. Two local bond agencies posted the $500,000 bond for her Thursday.

A woman in the crowd yelled "baby killer" as Casey Anthony walked to a nearby black sport utility vehicle and another applauded her release.

Casey was released once before when celebrity bounty hunter Leonard Padilla helped post her bond, but was arrested just over a week later on charges of check fraud and theft.
