Jags Rescind Season Tickets Of Fans Arrested At Game

3 Men Accused Of Attacking Security Guard

POSTED: Wednesday, October 1, 2008
UPDATED: 9:36 pm EDT October 1, 2008

The three Jaguars fans who ended up in jail after last Sunday's game against the Texans have now had their season tickets taken away as well.

The Jaguars announced on Wednesday the team has rescinded the tickets of Antonio Martinez, James Cotton and Shaun Perkins. All three men were arrested after police said they attacked a security guard.

According to police, the fight started after one of the men was told he wouldn't be sold any more beer.

According to the police report, Martinez tried to hit the security guard and missed, and then "the guard pushed the suspect away in self-defense but was then grabbed by Mr. Martinez and taken to the ground."

The report states that while the security guard was on the ground, Cotton picked up a wooden folding chair and hit the guard in the back of the head.

Perkins kicked the man in the back of the head, a witness told police.

“This kind of behavior will not be tolerated,” Bill Prescott, Jaguars senior vice president/ stadium operations said on Wednesday. “We are committed to maintaining a game day environment that is both enjoyable and safe, while encouraging all fans to respect the rights of others attending the game. We want, and expect, our fans to be loud and to be passionate about their team, and we also understand having a good time at the stadium means being able to enjoy the game without being subjected to unacceptable behavior or language.”

In addition to revoking the season ticket privileges of the men arrested, the Jaguars said they were pursuing legal remedies to prevent them from attending future Jaguars games.
