Water Main Break Opens Sinkhole On Baymeadows Road

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A busted water main caused a sinkhole to open up on Baymeadows Road in front of the entrance to Baymeadows Golf Club, just east of Interstate 95.A seven-foot long hole opened up about 1:30 p.m.The JEA and Florida Department of Transportation both sent crews to the scene.Baymeadows was reduced to one lane westbound and had backed up to Old Baymeadows Road by 2 p.m.Officials said the hole cannot be filled until the water line is repaired.
