JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- An injury accident involving three vehicles at the east base of the Mathews Bridge force two of three westbound lanes to close for nearly one hour Friday morning.

Westbound traffic was backed up to Arlington Road. Police redirected some westbound traffic south on University Boulevard to Atlantic Boulevard and across the Hart Bridge. Eastbound lanes were also slow, with traffic backed up across the bridge.

The nature of the accident and severity of the injuries were not immediately available.
