An 18-year-old was killed in a single-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon in Putnam County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
State troopers said Blake Cone, of Pomona Park, was driving his Jeep south on Dumbarton Lane, a dirt road just south of County Road 308B, at about 1 p.m.
Troopers said Cone appeared to have lost control of his vehicle, causing the front of the Jeep to strike a tree on the east side of Dumbarton Lane.
After striking the tree, the Jeep rotated counterclockwise across the road, then came to a stop, troopers said.
They said the crash caused a fire in the vehicle, and Cone was unable to get out of the Jeep.
Cone was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers said he was not wearing a seat belt.
