JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Florida Division of Forestry has been battling a blaze on more than 300 acres south of CR 21 just south of Melrose in Putman County.
Officials with the Florida Division of Forestry, Putnam County Emergency Management and volunteer firefighters have gotten lines around the mostly swampy area.
No residents or structures are in immediate danger, but officials said it will take days to extinguish the flames and local residents will see a lot of smoke.
Officials do not know what caused the fire.
