Pedestrian Hit By Car On Westside, Dies

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A 49-year-old pedestrian died Friday night after he was struck by a car on 103rd Street.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the man, whose name was not released pending notification of his family, was walking along the shoulder of 103rd Street about 500 feet east of Blanding Boulevard about 8:10 p.m. when he stepped in front of a westbound car.
The pedestrian was transported to Shands-Jacksonville Medical Center, where he died.
Two people in the car, driver Emil Hoeltzel, 53, and passenger, Cynthia Adamic, 52, suffered minor injuries but did not require hospitalization.
The FHP report said charges were pending.
