PALM COAST, Fla. -- Two roommates were killed early Friday when a speeding motorcycle left a Flagler County road on a curve and struck some utility boxes, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The wreck occurred about 1 a.m. at Palm Harbor Parkway and Cottonwood Court. Kevin Harris, 22, and Tyler Riffel, 26, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers said the 2006 Suzuki motorcycle was southbound on "well in excess of (the) posted 45 mph limit" when it left the road and hit four telephone junction boxes. Both riders, who were wearing helmets, were ejected.
This is the second double traffic fatality in Flagler County in just over 48 hours.
Two Palm Coast men were killed early Wednesday morning when their Chevrolet Camaro left Interstate 95 just south of state Road 100 and struck some trees.
