JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- He gunned down a 13-year-old boy, now he'll never walk free again. A Jacksonville judge sentenced convicted killer Josef Williams to life in prison without parole.
Two weeks ago, a jury convicted Williams. He had nothing to say at his sentencing on Friday.
In April 2006, Williams opened fire on a crowd of teens in a drive-by shooting in Northwest Jacksonville. He shot and killed 13-year-old Radarius Jackson. The teenager was walking home from a youth club with his brother.
Today Radarius' mother, Keisha Jackson, directly addressed Williams in court, saying, "You need to realize you have taken a human life, my son. Do you realize that? Or do you even care? You not only ruined your life, you ruined me and my family's too."
A second suspect, Gregory Almon, testified against Williams. Almon was driving the car used in the drive-by that killed the teen. He has already been sentenced to 15 years in prison.
