PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. -- A Ponte Vedra Beach mother was recently arrested and accused of getting drunk and trying to pick a fight with some teenagers at a bowling alley.
Witnesses at Beach Bowl on Beach Boulevard, where investigators said Lori Nicholson took her daughter, said the evening started as a night out with friends but quickly escalated into much more.
Police said the 36-year-old mother tried to start a fight with a teenager inside the bowling alley.
According to witnesses, the fight started inside but moved outside into the parking lot. That's when the police got involved.
A police report states that when an officer arrived at the business Nicholson was "chasing her daughter through the parking lot and around several cars." The officer wrote in his report that Nicholson was "noticeably intoxicated, extremely agitated and refusing to calm down."
Channel 4 reporter Jennifer Bauer spoke with Nicholson on Monday evening at the woman's Ponte Vedra home and asked her about the fight she allegedly tried to start with a teenager inside the bowling alley.
"Actually, the teenagers were acting quite rude and jumping in my face. I don't even know -- one thing lead to another," Nicholson said. "I've never been in trouble before, and this was a very personal matter between my daughter and me."
Nicholson is facing charges of disorderly intoxication and disorderly conduct.
Nicholson said she asked the officer to arrest her. She also said she has hired an attorney.
