JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Fire crews and hazardous-materials team responding to a report of an explosion of a Westside storage tank have put out the resulting fire.
About 9 a.m., firefighters responded to U.S. Ink in the 5200 block of Shawland Road, where a 10,000-gallon tank was burning. Jacksonville Fire-Rescue Division's hazardous materials team joined about 50 firefighters at the scene.
Foam was used on the blaze and the fire was out about 9:45 a.m.
"We do not know yet what the cause of the incident was ... but we do know the point of origin," JFRD spokesman Tom Francis said.
A woman who was in the company's office near the tank suffered a minor injury. She was transported to St. Vincent's Medical Center for observation.
Francis said the tank contained hydrocarbon resin, an ingredient in ink. He said the material is very combustible, but not an environmental risk.
There were no evacuations, but police closed Shawland Road between Ellis Road and Edgewood Avenue for about an hour.
