ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- Tyrone Ramsey resigned as principal of St. Augustine High School on Friday. Ramsey had just three months left in the school year, but gave little reason for his resignation other than being "tired."
Ramsey served as principal at Murray Middle School and the Gaines Alternative and Transition Schools at the Evelyn B. Hamblen Center before he took over at St. Augustine.
Tim Forson, the district's executive director for facilities and operations, took over Monday. A permanent replacement will be named during the summer.
Forson taught social studies at St. Augustine High and was named its Teacher of the Year in 1991. After that, he served as principal at Bartram Trail High School and Mill Creek Elementary School.
