Two Duval County schools were temporarily placed on lockdown Monday afternoon when police officers heard gunfire in the area.

Stanton College Preparatory School and St. Pius Catholic School were on lockdown briefly after officers reported hearing multiple shots and set up a perimeter around a house in the 1300 block of West 13th Street in Northwest Jacksonville.

Police later said they arrested a man accused of firing shots randomly in his back yard.

No one was hurt in the incident.
