TAMPA, Fla. -- A Hillsborough County man beat a 2-year-old child to death because she would not stop crying and go to sleep, authorities said.Kenneth Lopez is in jail without bond and is charged with aggravated child abuse. Authorities said the charges may be upgraded.Lopez wrapped the child in a towel and struck her repeatedly, authorities said.The 2-year-old, Gabrielle Randel, was the daughter of Lopez’s girlfriend. She died in a hospital Sunday. His girlfriend’s 3-year-old son was taken into state custody.
