Sheriff: Man Apparently Killed In Self-Defense

Nassau County detectives are investigating after a man found shot Friday evening died of his wounds.Deputies called to a home on Robin Hood Drive at 6:43 p.m. Friday found Lonnie Tanner III lying in a doorway with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.Tanner was transported to Shands-Jacksonville Medical Center, where he later died.Detectives believe Tanner was shot in self-defense, but released no other details about the circumstances surrounding his death.
