FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. -- Felix Jones made headlines when he won a battle to sell food and entertain crowds in Fernandina Beach, and this weekend, the Nassau County community is reaching out to help him and his family.
Thirty-percent of the sales Saturday from the Chick-Fil-A in Yulee will be donated to the family.
People packed the City Hall building in Fernandina Beach back in April to stand up for Jones. Jones' side job was challenged because of a local law that states selling anything on the streets is illegal.
For two decades, Jones has used a tricycle to get around, often selling baked goods, fruits and peanuts from a basket behind his ride. The money he makes from selling the baked goods goes to charity.
