STARKE, Fla. -- Three people face charges after a drug bust at a home in Starke. A new task force involving investigators in Bradford and Union counties made the arrests.
Officers arrested 24-year-old Dustin Douglas, 22-year-old Jennifer Douglas, and 22-year-old Samuel Jackson Tuesday at a home on North Orange Street. Dustin and Jennifer Douglas are both charged with trafficking in oxicodone, a powerful painkiller. Investigators said Dustin Douglas and Samuel Jackson tried to flush the drugs down a toilet as officers got to the home. Those two men are charged with destruction of evidence. Dustin Douglas is also charged with cocaine possession.
A task force named B.U.S.T.E.D. investigated the case. The name stands for Bradford, Union, Starke Taskforce for Eradicating Drugs. The force is made up of officers from the Bradford and Union County sheriff's offices, along with Starke police officers.
In a joint statement, Chief Jeff Johnson along with Sheriffs Gordon Smith and Jerry Whitehead said; "B.U.S.T.E.D.’s mission will be to maintain a constant pressure on the drug dealers and users in our communities to ensure a better quality of life for our law abiding citizens."
