FDA's Concerns About Allergy Meds
POSTED: Thursday, July 2, 2009
The F-D-A has made a recent statement about some allergy and asthma medications many of your children may take. They include Singulair, Zyflo and Accolate. The concern is these drugs have been associated with some psychiatric changes in people--for instance: depression, suicidal thoughts, and nightmares. The panel hopes new labeling will help. Local allergist, Dr. Sunil Joshi appeared on The Morning Show Thursday. He talked about the side-effects to be included on the labels, which are agitation, anxiousness, vivid dreams, and depression.
