Woman Robbed At Orange Park ATM

Victim Was Making Cash Deposit At ATM On Blanding Boulevard

POSTED: Thursday, July 2, 2009

A woman making a cash deposit at the Bank of America walk-up ATM located in Orange Park became the victim of an attempted robbery last month.

According to the Clay County Sheriff's Office, the victim was approached from behind at 11:50 a.m. June 21 by a man who demanded her money.

When she told him she had just dropped the money in the drawer, the man turned his attention toward the ATM and the victim started to run toward her vehicle.

The suspect ran after her and pointed a silver handgun at her and demanded money. When the victim explained she did not have any money, the suspect turned and ran.

The robber is described as an Asian or Hispanic man, between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall with a slim build and dark hair. He was dressed in a black hooded sweatshirt, dark jeans and a dark baseball cap and wearing a blue bandanna over his face.

Once he fled through the parking lot, he was seen getting into the rear passenger seat of a dark colored four-door car, possibly a Ford Taurus or Mercury Sable, in the Target parking lot. The vehicle appeared to be occupied by a White man and a Hispanic or Asian woman.

The woman entered Target just prior to the attempted robbery. She was seen returning to the suspect vehicle shortly before the incident. She is described as possibly in her late teens or early 20s, 5 feet 5 and 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing between 130 and 150 pounds, with very long, black hair. In a surveillance video, she is wearing a striped shirt and light colored pants.
