A St. Augustine woman was killed and two people were injured early Friday morning in a head-on crash between two sport utility vehicles on Interstate 10 in Columbia County.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 37-year-old Cyntha Ray's SUV was driving east in a westbound lane of I-10 about 1:40 a.m. when she struck a vehicle driven by Liz Powers, 25, of St. Petersburg.
Ray's vehicle left the road, entered the median and overturned. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The second SUV went onto the shoulder of the highway and spun around before coming to a stop. Powers suffered serious injures and her passenger, Harold Hernandez, 25, of Grand Forks, Neb., suffered minor injuries.
The FHP report said the investigation was pending the outcome of a blood-alcohol test on Ray.
