JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A 25-year-old is held without bond, accused of shooting a friend who was trying to calm him down after being ejected from Thursday night's Suns baseball game for being drunk.
According to the arrest report, Brad Gill and two others were driven home by 29-year-old William Spaulding after the game. Police were told that Gill got mad when Spaulding refused to drop him off at work to do some paperwork. When another man in the car made a remark, Gill allegedly punched him.
The group ended up at Spaudling's home in Mandarin, where Gill and Spaulding got into a fight. The arrest report says Spaulding was still trying to settle him down when Gill pulled a gun and shot Spaudling in the chest.
A second man was shot in the hand.
Two neighbors, who heard the gunshots, told Channel 4 they ran over and subdued Gill and hog-tied him and waited for police.
Gill was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault. At a first-appearance hearing Friday morning, the judge ordered him held without bond.
