CLAY COUNTY, Fla. -- The Clay County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of three men in connection with a rash of home burglaries Monday. Deputies even say two of the suspects were caught in the act.
Donald DeGregory, David Hall and Charles Marsh were arrested and charged after investigators said they are responsible for a string of daytime home invasions that stretched from Middleburg to Fleming Island.
On Friday, June 26, a mother and her two children came home to find two of the men in her driveway. As the suspects drove off, one of the men fired a handgun out the window of the car. The woman gave a description of the two men and said they were driving what appeared to be a white Chevrolet Impala. Working with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, Clay County deputies identified DeGregory as a suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office Street Crimes Unit began surveillance on the vehicle hoping it would lead to DeGregory. While following the vehicle on July 1, deputies observed Hall and Marsh committing a burglary and took the two into custody. DeGregory was arrested the next day. All three men have been linked to a total of 12 residential burglaries in Clay County and 5 in Duval.
