CALLAHAN, Fla. – A 1-year-old boy was found unresponsive in a pool Wednesday afternoon and pulled from the water, according to the Nassau County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies said the boy's mother, Sara Merrett, was outside working with two men on her vehicle in the 54000 block of Lawhon Road about 12:30 p.m. when she couldn't find her son.

Merrett told deputies they found the boy in the pool behind the home, and she jumped in and pulled him out. Deputies said all three performed CPR on the child and resuscitated him.
The boy was flown to UF Health Jacksonville. His condition was unknown.
The Department of Children and Families was notified.
