Fire officials say two children died in a house fire in the Florida Panhandle.

Pensacola Fire Marshal's Office spokesman Kevin Fiedor says the children -- ages 8 and 10 -- were found in the back bedroom early Monday. The children's mother and another adult were taken to a hotel provided by the American Red Cross.

The Pensacola News Journal reports the fire was reported about 1 a.m. Authorities say the house was fully engulfed in flames when they arrived.

Investigators from the state and local fire marshal's officer were trying to find out what caused the fire.
