Two dogs were killed in a house fire on the Southside on Friday afternoon.
Firefighters were called to a home in the 11000 block of Sands Street, where they said heavy flames were showing when they arrived.
Everyone inside the home got out safely.
The family also has five cats, which all escaped unharmed.
The State Fire Marshal was investigating the cause of the fire, which was not immediately known.
The Red Cross was assisting the family.
