Detectives are hoping anyone who may have taken cell phone video the night of the brawl will come forward so they can have some clue as to what happened.

"He was the nicest guy," said Jenni Olsen, a friend of Martin's. "He never did anything wrong to anybody. He was very level-headed, so it just shocks me that something like this would happen."

Police said both men were killed in a massive brawl at the club. They said it all started with a fight inside the club, but those involved were thrown out.

Investigators said the fight continued in the parking lot.

Police said Martin and Smith were friends. They said they didn't attack each other but may have been involved in numerous fights all going on at the same time.

The chaotic scene so far has not left police much to go on.

"There were actually several fights that occurred out in front of the club in the parking lot simultaneously," said Sgt. Dan Mahla, of the Clay County Sheriff's Office. "It was a very large crime scene and a large amount of individuals that had to be interviewed."

While business try to clean up the scene, locals who live in the neighborhood said they're on edge after the crime.

"It scares me a little bit," said Dr. Kristen Burke, who works near the club. "It doesn't happen regularly here."

Detectives ask anyone with information to call the Clay County Sheriff's Office at 904-213-6620.
