Two undercover police officers who say they had bought crack and prescription pain pills from 20-year-old nicknamed Hardhead since last month were injured Wednesday evening when he resisted arrest and drove his car on a sidewalk and resisted arrest.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says detectives were meeting Khalaf Miller at the CVS pharmacy on Blanding Boulevard when he drove away, hitting several other vehicles in the parking lot and side-swiping an officer. Police said when Miller's pickup truck struck a tree, he got out and ran. Officers used a Taser gun on Miller before he was subdued.
The officer hit by Miller's pickup and another officer injured during the arrest went to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Miller is facing a laundry list of charges, including battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest and sale of cocaine, opium and marijuana and auto theft.
