JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

The Coast Guard Sector of Station Jacksonville command center was notified of a fishing vessel that had ran aground Saturday.

The call came in as a "Mayday" from the 73-foot fishing vessel called Carolina Girl 3. The mariners staid the boat had run aground on the north side of the jetties of the St. Johns River entrance and was taking on water.

The Coast Guardsmen from Station Mayport responded around 11:51 p.m. The Station crew brought pumps to help the vessel begin removing water from the boat.

Because of the amount of water the vessel was taking on the Coast Guard took the two fisherman to a rescue boat.

There is no report of any injuries during the incident.
