Man killed, teen shot on Westside

Police identity 21-year-old who died; 15-year-old remains hospitalized

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police said a 21-year-old shot Sunday night during an armed robbery at a mobile home park on the Westside died at the hospital  A 15-year-old shot while running away from the scene remains in critical condition at UF Health Jacksonville.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, the shooting happened just after 7 p.m. at Deerpointe Mobile Home Park on 103rd Street.  Police say three males were in the middle of the complex when another male approached and started firing.

Police identified the man killed as Lorenzo Thomas. Officers say the 15-year-old and the third person took off running, and that's when the 15-year-old was shot in the back.

Police don't know if the three males know the shooter, who remains at large.
