2 sought in college campus car break-ins

ORANGE PARK, Fla. – Clay County deputies are trying to identify a man and a woman who they said broke into cars in the parking lot of the St. Johns River State College Orange Park Campus.

Deputies said a grey/silver van (pictured below), possibly a Dodge or Chrysler, entered the parking lot on Sept. 16. They said a man and woman parked and walked around the parking lot acting like a couple, holding hands and playing around.

While doing that, they were looking into vehicles, deciding which ones to burglarize, deputies said. They then parked their van in another location near a vehicle, deputies said.

The man was seen on video approaching a car and breaking the passenger window, deputies said. They said the thieves took an empty lunchbox from that car.

Deputies said another vehicle also had a broken passenger window, and the victim's makeup bag was taken.

Anyone with information on the thieves' identities is asked to call the Clay County Sheriff's Office at 904-264-6512.
