2-year-old suffers life-threatening injuries

Homicide detectives are investigating how a child ended up in the hospital suffering from life-threatening head trauma.

On Friday, someone brought the two-year-old victim to the local hospital, according to authorities.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's office said the child was unresponsive.

The child is alive, but is in life-threatening condition, deputies said.

Authorities did not provide more information because it is considered an ongoing child abuse investigation.
