20-year-old convicted in drive-by shooting

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 20-year-old man was found guilty as charged Wednesday of attempted murder in a 2015 drive-by shooting.

Tony Bernard Daniels Jr., 20, was convicted of attempted second-degree murder, discharging a firearm from a vehicle and possession of a firearm by a juvenile delinquent found to have committed a felony act.

In March 2015, the victim was walking near West 13th Street when Daniels and three others drove up next to him.

Daniels and the co-defendants then fired multiple shots at the victim. One of the bullets hit the victim in the leg.

Daniels now faces a 20-year minimum mandatory and up to 45 years in prison. He will be sentenced the week of March 14.
