Grandmother Found Dead In Home
Police Suspect Foul Play, Still Investigating
POSTED: Monday, July 27, 2009
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police are looking into the suspicious death of a 70-year-old widow and grandmother on the Northside.
Investigators said Lola Faulk's grandson found her dead inside her home in the 16000 block of Shellcracker Road Sunday morning.
"She stayed to herself," Faulk's neighbor Ingrid Johnson said. "She's older."
Johnson said she didn't know what happened to her elderly neighbor until she saw her home.
"We saw all the red tape, and we knew something bad went on," Johnson said.
Johnson said Faulk was a widow. She said Faulk's husband died recently and she moved into their home on Black Hammock Island with her 18-year-old grandson.
"He must be distraught," Johnson said. "He's the one that found his grandmother like that."
Police were called there early Sunday morning. They won't say how the 70-year-old died, but they do suspect foul play in her death.
And so does Johnson.
"She was found dead laying wrapped up, so that's all I'm going to say," Johnson said.
Now she just hopes police are finding the clues they need to make an arrest.
"I hope they find out who exactly did it and justice is served for them," Johnson said.
