Joshua Dukes found guilty of second-degree murder, aggravated assault

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man has been found guilty of fatally shooting another man at an apartment complex in 2013, state attorneys said.

Joshua Lee Dukes, 20, was found guilty Friday afternoon of second-degree murder and aggravated assault.

Officers found Wesley Bridges, 36, shot multiple times at a Barnes Road apartment complex in August 2013, according to state attorneys.

The investigation revealed that Bridges and another victim were outside waiting for a ride when Dukes and his two co-defendants approached them. State attorneys said Dukes then shot Bridges multiple times.

Bridges later died at the hospital as a result of his injuries, according to state attorneys.

Roteia Hutchinson pleaded guilty to a charge of attempted armed robbery in the case, Jarquavis Davis pleaded guilty to charges of second-degree murder and attempted armed robbery, and Eltonia Humphries pleaded guilty to a charge of second-degree murder, state attorneys said. All are scheduled to be sentenced in the next month.
