ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- The attorney for Quinn Gray, the Ponte Vedra Beach woman arrested 10 days ago on extortion charges, is now taking steps to get her out of jail on bond.
Gray's attorney, Mark Miller, filed a motion Friday asking for a bond reduction. Gray's bond is set at $1 million.
Miller said Gray has no criminal history and she poses no danger to the community.
He said the "credibility of currently available evidence may be impacted by the ongoing investigation."
Miller said Gray is "seeking, receiving and cooperating with all appropriate mental health treatment," and if she is released, he said an appropriate treatment plan will be followed.
Gray is charged with trying to extort $50,000 thousand dollars from her husband with a man police said she was having an affair with.
Deputies said the two staged Gray's disappearance and tried to make it seem like she was being held for ransom.
Officers later found her OK.
Gray's attorney talked about her marriage on Friday.
He said "there are no pending or expected actions at this time to dissolve the marriage."
Miller said it is the goal of the family to "recover and move forward."
There is no word when the hearing will be.
