Council President Wants To Upgrade Stadium

Richard Clark Says He Wants To Put $5 Million Per Year Toward Sports Complex

POSTED: Tuesday, September 29, 2009

City Council President Richard Clark confirmed to Channel 4 Tuesday that he wants to spend money allotted for the city's convention center on maintenance for Jacksonville Municipal Stadium.

Clark said he will introduce legislation that could take $5 million per year to put toward upgrading the sports complex.

That money will primarily be used at the Jacksonville Municipal Stadium, home to the Jaguars.

This comes at a time when the team is coming under fire for poor attendance and poor performance on the field.
