Gray Remains In Jail After Bond Reduction

Judge Reduced Ponte Vedra Woman's Bond By $800,000 Friday

After a judge granted a Ponte Vedra woman a reduction in her $1million bond Friday, she's still in jail three days later.

Quinn Gray, the 37-year-old woman accused of faking her own kidnapping, went to court Friday afternoon and her lawyer convinced a judge to lower the accused extortionist's bond to $200,000.

Gray also had to agree to comply with a list of conditions.

"I'm here to show support, here to get her as much help as she needs," Gray's husband Reid Gray told Channel 4 Friday.

Reid Gray said he's being supportive, and Quinn Gray's attorney, Mark Miller, said the same thing about her husband.

"One-hundred percent supportive," Miller said. "(He) wants his family to heal, recover. They have a long way to go."

But no one has tried to post Gray's bond, according to the St. Johns County jail.

The Gray's have two choices. They can post the full $200,000 or they can work with a bail bondsman, which would allow them to only have to post 10 percent of the bond -- in this case $20,000.

The bondsman would then give his word in the form a legal document to the judge that Quinn Gray will obey all the conditions of her bond. If not, there are stiff consequences for the mother of two.

Twenty-thousand dollars is a lot of money to most people, but the day Quinn Gray was arrested, she told reporters, "If I wanted $50,000, all I would do is take it out of the bank account."

Gray is accused of trying to get $50,000 from her husband, an amount she said they have in the bank.

Before her arrest, gray lived in a Ponte Vedra home with her husband and daughters.

It's in a multi-million dollar home right on the beach, a much different setting from the conditions she's been living in at the St. Johns County jail.
