JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Regulators who are trying to control the overfishing of red snapper in the Atlantic Ocean will be holding a public hearing next month on proposed rule changes.
The South Atlantic Fishery Management Council is looking at both short-term and long-term measures to save the red snapper population.
The council will be holding public hearings in November in coastal cities from Key West to North Carolina.
Jacksonville's public hearing is set for Thursday, Nov. 12, from 3-7 p.m. It will be held at the Crowne Plaza Jacksonville Riverfront hotel in downtown Jacksonville.
