JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Early next month, the stage lights will be back on again at a fixture of the local arts community which closed its doors two months ago.
The Alhambra Dinner Theatre shut down at the end of August, as a result of dwindling crowds over the years.
That's when a local businessman, who is a fan of the theatre's productions, stepped in to help, and worked to reopen the Alhambra.
The building is now getting a facelift, inside and out. The building is being re-painted, and things on the inside, from flooring to bathroom fixtures, are being replaced. The dinner portion of the theater experience is also changing. Food will now be provided by well-known local restaurant owner Matthew Medure.
The Alhambra will reopen the first week of December, with its production of the holiday musical, "A Christmas Carol."
