Bay Street Traffic Patern Changes Between Ocean, Newnan

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A portion of Bay Street downtown changed from a one-way street into a two-way street between Ocean and Newnan streets on Wednesday morning.The change become effective after the morning rush hour on Wednesday. There will be one westbound lane, one eastbound lane, plus a turn lane.Traffic officials with the city of Jacksonville said the new configuration will allow drivers to make a right turn onto Bay Street from the Main Street Bridge exit ramp.An electronic message board will be in place to direct traffic.The Bay Street changes are in addition to the changes made for Jaguars game days.
