JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A 20-year-old man was arrested and charged with murder in connection with Wednesday night's fatal stabbing on a Southside street.
William Hull, 27, was found stabbed and bleeding in the 3500 block of Eve Drive East just before 10 p.m. He was pronounced dead at Shands-Jacksonville Medical Center.
Friday morning, police announced the arrest of Michael Allen Waldrep. According to the police report, witnesses saw Waldrep stab Hull during a struggle.
When questioned, Waldrep admitted to stabbing Hull, but said it was after Hull had hit him in the face.
"Both the victim and the suspect were dating the same girls at one time or another and that was kind of the source of the dispute," Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Lt. Larry Schmitt said.
Waldrep was booked into the Duval County jail and ordered help without bond pending an appearance before a judge.
