A St. Johns County judge will have the final say on how much is heard in the Jasmin Osmanovic case.

The 25-year-old remains in jail on a $100,000 bond, accused of conspiring with Ponte Vedra Beach mother Quinn Gray in a plot to extort $50,000 from Gray's husband.

A hearing was held Friday for a proposed gag order in the case. For almost an hour, the judge laid into Gray's attorneys.

Attorneys for Osmanovic said Gray's attorneys are trying the case in the media, and they want the judge to stop them.

Gray's attorneys appeared on NBC's "Today" Show and Channel 4's "The Morning Show" this week.

Osmanovic's lawyers said the media appearances are tainting the potential jury pool and hurting their client.

"In particular, counsel has said that he has committed the crime of rape, which is inherently prejudicial, especially when he's not charged with any form of sexual battery," Osmanovic's attorney told the judge at the hearing, "that he has committed the crime of kidnapping or abduction when he is not charged with either of those crimes."

But attorneys for Gray said they are just trying to set the record straight and offer her side of the story. They argue she's been at the center of an intense media firestorm.

"Your honor, I'm entitled to a fair trial for my client," Gray's attorney told the judge. "Respectfully, it sounds like that if this order is granted you're going to be taking that away from us. She's a caricature, a caricature."

The judge will rule on the the gag order request on Monday. The ruling will only affect the attorneys in the case.
