Funeral Plans Announced For JSO Detective

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Funeral plans have been announced for a veteran Jacksonville Sheriff's Office detective who died while on duty.
Officer Robert "Bobby" Ford, 44, died Wednesday afternoon of an apparent heart attack.
A viewing for Ford will be held Monday, Nov. 9 from 4-8 p.m. at Parkwood Baptist Church at 7900 Lone Star Road.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 11 a.m. at Abyssinia Missionary Baptist Church at 10325 Interstate Center Drive. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery on Main Street.
Police said a driver reported seeing a stopped car on the Hart Bridge Wednesday afternoon. When police went to the scene, they discovered Ford slumped over the wheel. He died at Shands Jacksonville.
Ford had spent most of his 24-year career with JSO working in the narcotics and vice unit.
