Senior Scores Perfect 2400 On SAT

Camden County High School Student Astonished Himself

POSTED: Friday, November 6, 2009
UPDATED: 8:48 pm EST November 6, 2009

David Anthony is pretty smart, and his SAT score proves it.

In fact, his score was so high the third time he took the test, he astonished himself.

"I checked it again on my computer and it said 2400, and I was like, 'What!'" Anthony said.

In case you're unfamiliar with SAT scoring, 2400 is a perfect score.

"I still have a hard time believing it," 17-year-old Anthony said. "It's been a week, and I go on College Boards and view my scores and see three 800s and wonder, 'Is this real or a College Board sick prank?' I don't know."

Anthony has amazed Camden County High School's two SAT coaches, who said he was the first student they've had to get a perfect score.

His 2400 test score puts him in the 99.98 percentile among every student in the country who's taken the test.

You could say this high school senior's parents have played a role in his success.

"When I was a little kid, I got like a B in English in the first grade, and they were like 'What are you doing? You go to school and you get a B?'" Anthony said. "My parents knew I could do a lot well in school, so they expected me to."
